Welcome to our very first blog post and our little online community!!!

We are excited to share all of our secrets on how we met, about our long-distance relationship, our journey, our two (*as of now) weddings, our life as puppy-parents, and our dream of becoming couples’ love-story tellers through photography!!!

But first things first: Let us introduce ourselves to you!!!

Luisa’s Secrets:

1. I am born & raised in the beautiful, but mostly cold and rainy Germany.
2. If you would have asked me ten years ago where I would see myself today, I would have probably answered the following: Serving people as a doctor in my hometown Leverkusen (Germany). But life (and god) always has a greater plan…
3. Once upon a time, on September 26, 2012, in the fabulous Las Vegas when I least expected, I met the love of my life during a road trip across the US which has changed my life completely.
4. We fell in love, laughed, loved & cried through 2.5 years of a long-distance relationship (Leverkusen, Germany <3 Dallas, TX, USA).
5. We got engaged on April 19, 2014 when Douglas proposed to me sealing our unconditional love with a love lock on the “Hohenzollern Bridge” in Cologne, Germany.
6. I packed 3 boxes, 2 suitcases and 1 heart full of love to move & start our lives together in Dallas on January 20, 2015.
7. We got married (Wedding #1) on January 24, 2015 back where we first met: The Circus Circus in Las Vegas.
8. We got married (Wedding #2) with all of our loved ones on September 26, 2015 on a private Island in Aruba.
9. Since then I am trying to be a unicorn to the love of my life Douglas writing our own fairytale and be a puppy-mommy to Vegas.
10. I finished both the German and American medical examinations, now work for a biotech company in cancer research.
11. I am an introvert but love meeting new people!
12. I love to make my homemade latte macchiato (every morning!).
13. I love to eat pasta & pizza, and everything that has lot’s of carbs.
14. I have a love & hate relationship with the gym.
15. I love traveling & exploring the world.
16. I am addicted to everything that glitters & sparkles.

 

Douglas Secrets:

1. I am born & raised in the hot and humid Texas, and have Italian roots.
2. If you would have asked me ten years ago where I would see myself today, I would have probably answered the following: A pilot traveling the world.
3. On September 26, 2012 I met a German party animal during my 30th birthday celebration in Las Vegas who has changed my life completely.
4. We fell in love, laughed & loved (I did not cry but was a shoulder to lean on for Luisa) through 2.5 years of a long distance relationship (5000 miles apart).
5. I surprised her during Easter weekend when she thought to pick up my aunt at the airport and proposed to her on April 19, 2014 sealing our unconditional love with a love lock on the “Hohenzollern Bridge” in Cologne, Germany.
6. I had to make lots of room in my closet for my little shopping queen in January 2015, when she was finally able to move to Dallas and move in with me.
7. We got married (Wedding #1) on January 24, 2015 back where we first met: The Circus Circus in Las Vegas.
8. We got married (Wedding #2) with all of our loved ones on September 26, 2015 on a private Island in Aruba.
9. Since then I am trying to be an amazing husband continuing to write our unique love-story and be a puppy-daddy to Vegas.
10. I work for one of the best airlines in the country digging through data and trying to solve problems and improve processes on a daily basis.
11. I am an extrovert and love meeting new people!
12. I (now) love espresso but still trying to find the best coffee shop in the world.
13. I love to eat pizza, and I would eat it every day if Luisa let me.
14. I love the gym but also a good glass of wine or beer. Decisions, decisions…
15. I love traveling & exploring the world.
16. I am a strong believer in patience (and still trying to teach Luisa).

Now to our little family addition: The cutest puppy in the world that we named Vegas.

Vegas Secrets:

1. I was born & raised in Dallas, TX where mommy and daddy adopted me back in May 2016.
2. I had a life-threatening infection but an amazing team of vets & nurses saved my life!
3. Since then I am living an amazing puppy life with my (human) parents.
4. I love my belly & foot massages that I get (daily!) from mommy and daddy.
5. I love to jump around like a little bunny when I get excited.
6. I love to play fetch with daddy (even though I don’t like to give back my toy).
7. I love to sleep right in the middle between mommy & daddy, or even better, sometimes I get to bed first and can lay down on my back snuggling my head into mommy’s pillow (just love to sleep like a human).
8. I love to go to puppy daycare now, even though I did not understand why I was supposed to talk & play with other puppies the first time mommy dropped me off there.
9. I love the feeling when I am all clean, but I just don’t like the fact that I have to take a shower this often (water is just so wet!).
10. I love to jump on the couch when mommy & daddy are gone and look outside the window watching the squirrels, other dogs and sometimes even cats (which make me bark a lot) walking by.
11. I love feet!!!
12. I love feet!!!
13. I love feet!!! (Have I mentioned that? They just smell & taste so good).
14. I love to chew on mommy’s shoes but then really feel ashamed when she comes home and is sad that I destroyed her favorite pair (which is why I stopped doing that; for the most part…).
15. I do love food, but my tummy gets upset if I eat anything else besides my “regular diet”.
16. I love humans!!! There is nothing better than being pet and loved by all these amazing people out there!

Throughout the years (especially during the time we lived on two different continents) we have learned to communicate, not only through phone, video calls, or text, but also through pictures. We always had the greatest desire to literally live our life together while being 5000 miles apart. Pictures have helped us to achieve this goal and there has not been one day since the day we met, that we have not exchanged images throughout our day… Now, looking back at our story filled with images throughout the past (almost) 5 years of our relationship, we are able to re-live every moment, every emotion we felt when we were apart, but most importantly also when we were together. We are able to tell and show our story, one day sitting down with our children (and grandchildren) looking back at our pictures telling and teaching them about unconditional love, commitment and creating and unbreakable bond!!!

Pictures are our SECRET to tell this, our, yours, and hopefully many many other lovers’ love stories.

We have been very lucky to learn from great photographers throughout the years and we are extremely excited to now use our experience to create these beautiful memories that will last forever!!!
