Oh we are so excited to start our blog series about our Secrets On How To Photograph A Wedding – from all the Details to the Grant Exit. As wedding photographers you not only have to know & rock lighting and your camera settings but you are a landscape (ie. venue shots), product (ie. details), senior (ie. bride and groom individuals), family (ie. bridal party, family portraits), couple (ie. bride and groom portraits), and event photographer (ie. ceremony and reception) at the same time. We all wear many heads and there is typically not a lot of time to think about technical things on a wedding day.
We spend hours researching and putting together lists on how to capture all the different events on a wedding day but were never able to find it all in one place. That is why we wanted to share all of our Secrets with you. To save your time and focus what we all do best. Capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Here is our all of our Secrets On How To Photograph A Wedding
How To Create First Looks For Your Brides
First Looks are one of our favorite parts of a wedding day! And there is a good reason why most of our couples decide to do a first look. Today we want to share why first looks are so special and LOVED by our brides and grooms. But there are more first looks that we create on wedding days. And we will help you capture those!
First Look Bride & Groom
The moment every girl is dreaming of. Wearing a wedding dress. Walking towards her groom. Seeing his eyes tear up. His smile getting bigger. Don’t we all want that REACTION? Every bride does. Every bride is dreaming of her groom seeing her for the first time and getting an emotional reaction. But most brides think that they may loose this moment if they see each other before walking down the aisle. They assume it will be less emotional or intimate. They like the idea of tradition. And want to wait for everyone to witness the groom’s reaction. But what we have found with experience, capturing and planning so many weddings.. is the opposite. Everyone knows how stressful a wedding day can become, especially for the bride and groom. The entire day and the guests are focused on them. And the tension is there. Especially right before the ceremony. Finally, the groom enters the ceremony. All eyes on him. Waiting for his reaction. The farthest thing from an intimate and romantic moment for just the bride and groom. That is exactly why we will talk through these scenarios with all of our couples. Our job is not only to capture natural moments throughout a wedding day but to create an unforgettable EXPERIENCE. Help our couples to create moments of intimacy and pure joy! The ONLY ALONE time on a wedding day. Which is why almost all of our brides love the idea of a first look with their grooms. They actually get intimate time just with each other. Give each other the chance to show REAL EMOTIONS. And on top of that. Our couples will receive more pictures of just themselves on their wedding day. Timeless images that will be shared with generations to come. It takes away the nerves and the expectations for the groom during the ceremony. And we will be able to take all of the family and bridal party pictures before the ceremony. So that our couples can enjoy the rest of their day without worrying about formal portraits!!!
First Look Bride & Father Of The Bride
Seeing their little girl growing up. Falling in love. And finally getting married. This is such a special day for every dad!!! That is exactly why we always try to incorporate extra time for a first look of our brides with their daddies. These are one of our favorite moments of the day. When her dad turns around and sees their beautiful daughter, in her wedding gown, glowing full of love and joy. Our brides are so thankful for these moments. And they will cherish the pictures forever.
First Look Bride & Bridesmaids
Another one of our favorites. Our brides carefully select their best friends to be a part of their special day. To stand by their side when they are getting married. They have probably shared and know every single detail about their relationship, from the first day they met, through the proposal, being engaged, to their big day! And what could be more special than creating a moment for our brides alone with just their best friends. Admiring her in her wedding gown. Sharing meaningful hugs and words of encouragement and joy. The girls and your brides will be forever grateful for moments like these!!!
